FIRING SEPARATOR How-to

New product for you to use on greenware or soft-fired ware. When firing a porcelain, earthenware or stoneware piece with a lid or base - you can fire them together with this firing separator coated onto the two touching pieces. This will keep the two pieces from fusing during the firing. Will also ensure that the pieces will fit together after bisque fire.
Works perfectly at any firing temperature.
Packaged in 4 oz. plastic bottle with a spout.
Item # SESEP4
1. Cast lid and piece as usual.
2. Let piece dry. Pre clean piece with Kwik Clean brushes to get rid of majority of the seam lines and imperfections.
3. Soft fire to cone 018.
4. Finish cleaning in water with Wet Scrubber, GreenCleen and Comfy Scrub.
5. Glaze piece if desired.
6. Shake separator well.
7. When pieces are dry, squeeze a small amount of separator onto the parts of the lid and base that will touch during the firing.
8. If you have glazed the inside of the piece, make sure that no separator is touching the glaze. Wipe off any glaze that has separator touching it. (After the firing any separator that was in the glaze will come out as a rough sandy area in the glaze.
9. Fire as usual.
10. After firing, lid should come off easily. Do not force.
11. Brush off the left over fine sand into the garbage.
12. You are left with a perfectly fitting lid
